The Police in the Brong Ahafo region say they have arrested four suspects in connection with the assassination of the paramount chief of the Seikwa traditional area
Nana Kweku Gyimah Ankoana was gunned down at his residence by unknown assailants, two weeks ago.
It was not immediately known what the motive for the assassination was but the police conceded the late chief had his cars vandalised three months earlier.
Following the assassination, the police announced they had commenced investigations into the shooting.
The District Police Commander of Seikwa ASP Christopher Tawiah told Citi News Monday, November 11, 2013, that four suspects had been arrested for their alleged involvement in the killing.
According to him, the four have been transferred to the Police Headquarters in Accra as investigations continue.
Due to the volatile security situation in Seikwa, ASP Tawiah did not mention the names of the suspects but insisted the four were in police custody.
He said Seikwa remains calm after the incident.
