The Elephants of Ivory Coast play Colombia in Group C of the ongoing World Cup in Brazil. The Africans need their second win in the tournament to book a place in the one-sixteenth stage having already beaten Japan 2-1 in the group's opener.
Myjoyonlne.com will give updates on the game being played in Estádio Nacional de Brasilia, Brasília.
A well balanced game so far with both countries creating their fair share of chances and squandering them with ease.
But Colombia have the best chance of the afternoon and in what may well contend for the best miss of the tournament, Columbia's striker misses the most glorious opportunity when he criminally shot wide from the six yard box.
He had only the goal keeper to beat and had all the time in the world to control and bury the ball but somehow the striker went for a one-touch strike and wasted the ball.
At the end of 45 minutes and few minutes of added time, Howard Webb has brought the first to an end.
It was a half of fiesty performances and missed chances by both teams. Ivory Coast had the better of the exchanges but failed to make it count.
The second half has just begun. No story to tell in terms of goals but the Colombians have lifted up their game probing the goal area of the West African side.
Great tackle to prevent Gradel from scoring the opener for the Ivorians in the 56th minute.
The Ivorians would be lucky to keep a clean sheet at the Columbian striker Quadrani struck it hard in 18 yard box. A finger-tip save by the Ivorian keeper flipped the ball which the cross bar for a corner kick.
The Colombians make ammends in the 63rd minute thanks to a stupendous header from a corner.
Quintero has deepened the woes of the Africans with a cool finish in the 69th minute.
And Gervinho reduces the tally with a great effort from close range in the 72nd minute. He teasingly outwitted his marker before striking low and hard to beat the Colombian goal keeper.
Substitute Solomon Kalou had the opportunity to level the score but his final strike from a perfect Gervinho pass was too feeble.
The Ivorians are now asking all the questions of the Colombian defence who have so far remained resolute.
Colombia's goal keeper scuttles a last gasp Ivorian effort at goal with a timely clearance before Drogba would cause havoc.
2-1 it ended in favour of Colombia who have booked a place in the next stage of the competition. Ivory Coast would have to wait for their final game against Greece before they can be certain of their qualification.
