The Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGBMFI) has inaugurated the FGBMFI Distinguished FootPrints Awards.
According to the fellowship, this annual award scheme will acknowledge and reward volunteers and individuals for their exceptional demonstrations of high integrity and public-spiritedness.
Addressing the media during the award scheme launch, the Chairman of the award committee, Dr Joe Tackie stated that the fellowship not only recognises but also supports efforts by the broader Ghanaian society to identify and condemn individuals and organizations whose dishonest, corrupt and immoral actions have contributed to Ghana's unfavorable position in the worldwide Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) Score.
He emphasised that FGBMFI believes in the principle that distinguishes good people and good deeds in society for emulation.
"For this reason, FGBMFI has decided to institute an annual award scheme that will recognize and reward our many volunteers and individuals in the broader Ghanaian society, irrespective of their religious background, whose exceptional demonstration of high integrity and public-spiritedness has significantly contributed to the general good and peace of our country," he said.
Dr Tackie noted that the annual awards ceremony initiative aims to fill a gap in the administration of the Fellowship, emphasising the purpose of showing appreciation for the achievements of individuals and units within the fellowship.
"The framing of the awards with the caption 'Distinguished' is to recognise Members of the fellowship who have contributed through sacrifice and service to the growth of FGBMFI and, as a result, the Kingdom of God.
"The 'Footprints' symbolise an indelible imprint left as a memorable reminder of the contributions of the distinguished members and to encourage others to also walk with commendable examples."
He clarified that while the primary targets of the awards are FGBMFI staff and volunteers, the awards have been given a national flavor by including churches and para-church organizations, as well as the general body of Ghanaians who qualify to be awarded.
Additionally, the Chairman of the FGBMFI award committee noted that the first FGBMFI Distinguished Footprints Awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the La Palm Beach Hotel.
