The 2012 Presidential elections were predicted to be close and the final tally showed exactly that; the eventual winner, incumbent President John Mahama obtained just 50.70 per cent of the total votes cast.
His main contender, the opposition New Patriotic Party’s Nana Akufo-Addo, who is challenging the results, alleging fraud, got 47.74 per cent.
