Some Ga chiefs are unhappy with what they say is the deliberate attempt by the Mills administration to undermine their tradition.
The chiefs cite failure by the administration to perform the traditional prayers (libation) during the 55th Independence Anniversary Celebration.
A chief in Nungua, Nii Borketey III who was present at the Independence Square, venue for Ghana's 55th Independence Anniversary celebration told Joy News’ Seth Kwame Boateng he was disappointed with the obvious neglect of the Ghanaian tradition.
He wondered why the Christian and Moslem prayers would be called at the expense of the traditional prayers.
According to him, the decision to ignore the traditional prayer was “intentional” because the same thing was done last year.
He said they will take the issue up with the state protocol.
Nii Borketey was however impressed with the ceremony.
