The Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs is expected to make a final ruling on the legitimacy of the Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Tawiah III, after the two parties involved in the chieftaincy rumpus give their final submissions between now and December. Chief linguist of the Asere stool, Nii Ashittey Tetteh said he expects peace to return to Ga Mashie after the ruling. The Chief Warrior of Ga Mashie, Nii Owula Kpakpa Blofonyo, traditionally known as the Akwashong Mantse has been challenging the Ga Mantse’s legitimacy since 2006. The chief warrior’s councel, A.G. Boadu, is expected to make his final submission on November 18. The Ga Mantse’s cousel, Willie Amarfio, will also make his final submission two weeks later. The judicial panel of the House of Chiefs will then make a final ruling that could either put an end to or exacerbate the Ga chieftancy conflict. Nii Ashittey said the case is nearing a final declaration.
