The Greater Accra Amateur Boxing Association (GAABA) is to organize a Top Four boxing Championship to select the best four boxers in each weight division towards an impending international assignment.
The selected boxers will represent the Association at next year's championships event against a British select side.
Gideon Quartey, Vice-Chairman of the Association told the GNA Sports in an interview that the exercise is to select the best boxers and prepare them for the championship against their British counterparts who are expected to storm Accra with a strong team.
The recent Individual championship organized by the Association was aimed at selecting representatives in all the divisions but Mr Quartey insists that the Top Four would enhance the right choice of boxers.
He said the Association would soon announce the date, time and other details for the event.
Meanwhile, Attoh Quarshie Gym dominated the Individual Championships fight, which ended during the weekend by emerging winners in three weight divisions.
Samuel Kotey Neequaye, King Paul and Offei Dodoo emerged victors in the Light Welterweight, Middleweight and Lightweight divisions respectively.
Neequaye defeated Will Power Gym's Ben Lamptey whilst Paul beat his Gym mate Charles Azumah Stella.
Dodoo also made mince meat of another Gym mate Daniel Amarteifio.
In the Flyweight division, Raphael Abrompa of Wisdom Gym outclassed Samuel Yaw Addo of Fits Square Gym with Duke Micah proving superior over Jessy Lartey in an all Fit Square Gym affair in the Light Flyweight.
Habib Ahmed of Wisdom Gym beat Ebenezer Monney Akuetteh of Attoh Quarshie Gym in the Welterweight division while Maxwell Amponsah of Jah Bless Gym defeated Emmanuel Omarie Danso of Wisdom Gym in the Light Heavyweight class.
Richard Harrison of Sonia Gym overpowered William Armah Aryeetey of Bronx Gym in the Super Heavyweight division.
Prizes were presented to boxers in each weight category while the trainers of the participating gyms went home with waist bags.
