A galamsey operator at Akyim in the Eastern Region is alleged to have been butchered by a taskforce belonging to the Okyehene Ofori Panin Amoatia.
The victim is said to have suffrerd severe injuries to the arm and was rushed to the hospital.
The incident happened yesterday. According to eye witnesses, the taskforce claimed the victim was operating on the mining site belonging to one of them and was supposed to share the returns of his work but did not do that.
One of the witness who wanted to remain anonymous told Joy news, the macho-men-task-force pounced on the victim and inflicted wounds on his arm.
The attack, according to the eyewitness sparked widespread skirmishes in the town with town folks and relatives threatening reprisal attacks.
The task force are said to be on the run with the police at their heels
