Retail shopping outlet, GAME, will soon be re-branded as MASSMART.
This follows the takeover of GAME's operations in Africa by consumer goods marketing giant, MASSMART last year.
Joy Business gathers internal re-branding is currently on-going at the shop at Accra Mall.
Sources say the new owners of GAME plan to embark on some aggressive expansion drive which would see 10 shopping outlets opened in the country soon.
Industry watchers say the formal entry of MASSMART into Ghana, would see local consumers have access to global brands at a very competitive prices.
The world's biggest retail outlet, WAL-MART currently owns about 51 per cent stake in MASS MART.
Analysts say MASS-MART entry would also see some WAL-MART's products on the local market.
The Massmart Group comprises nine wholesale and retail chains, and one buying group - 288 stores and 470 buying Group members all focused on high-volume and low-cost distribution.
They operate in 14 countries in sub-Saharan Africa through the Group’s four operating divisions – Massdiscounters, Masswarehouse, Massbuild and Masscash.
The Group is listed on the main board of the Johannesburg Stock Exchance (JSE) Securities Exchange.
Sources close to MASSMART in South Africa, have however denied the company is planning to re-brand GAME.
They say there were no such plans.
