The National Gas Development Task Force set up by His Excellency President John Evans Atta Mills to review and make appropriate recommendations for the speedy realization of a national gas commercialization infrastructure system, has presented its Final Report and Recommendations to the President.
Chairman of the Task Force, Dr. Kwesi Botchwey, presented the report to His Excellency President John Evans Atta Mills at the Castle, Osu.
Presenting the report at the Castle, Osu, Dr. Botchwey said the work of the Task Force proved to be much more complex and extensive than anticipated but he and his colleagues remained undaunted by the unexpected challenges.
The recommendations include an early phase which if implemented expeditiously, would enable the evacuation and treatment of associated gas from the Jubilee Field production.
In the long term, the establishment of a full scale processing facility will enhance LPG recovery as well as the treatment of gas from phase 2 of the Jubilee Fields production as well as other gas fields that will come into operation over time.
His Excellency President Atta Mills thanked Dr. Botchwey and his colleagues for a good work done and gave the assurance that the recommendations would be carefully studied and implemented as appropriate.
