The machine used to channel gas from the Jubilee oil fields to the Atuabo gas processing plant has been fixed after it broke down last Saturday.
Joy Business gathered that the machine broke down Sunday evening after it resumed operations following a similar halt in operations on Saturday.
Joy Business’ George Wiafe reports that persons working on the gas infrastructure project at Atuabo say repair works were successfully completed Monday dawn.
The broken down compressor threatened to affect Atuabo's ability to deliver gas to the country’s power generators like the Volta River Authority (VRA).
A situation which could have affected the power producers’ ability to produce more power to meet the needs of domestic consumers and industries.
In a related development, even though sources say the gas infrastructure has the capacity to release about 140 million standard cubic feet of gas a day, it is being forced to only release just 54 million standard cubic feet.
This is because some of VRA's machines are said not be in good conditions to receive all the gas being produced.
Meanwhile, some electricity consumers have been experiencing slight improvements in their electricity supply. This is because some 220 megawatts of power from CERNIT and TICO have been added to the national grid over the past few days.
The addition has increased available power supply range to 1650 megawatts.
