The International Criminal Court says former Ivorian President, Laurent Gbagbo is well enough to stand trial for crimes against humanity. The court in the Hague took the decision yesterday, after considering the assessment of three doctors who evaluated Mr. Gbagbo's health. ICC judges said some special measures could be taken during the trial, to allow the former Ivorian president to participate, including shortening court sessions and allowing for rest breaks. Mr. Gbagbo faces four counts of crimes against humanity, stemming from violence after he lost the presidential election in Ivory Coast in November 2010. Ivorian rebel forces arrested him in April, 2011. His arrest, marked an end to months of fighting that killed 3,000 people and displaced more than one million.
