The Local and Divisional Union executives of the state broadcaster, Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) are up in arms against the board and are calling for its dissolution.
The Union executives among other things are calling on the Mr. Richard Kwame Asante led Board to fully disclose and account for the proceeds made from broadcasting the 2014 world cup.
Divisional Chairman of the Union, Michael Allotey who addressed the media said "things have gone from bad to worse and the Board is not working in the interest of the workers."
"GBC Board, contrary to the financial act has turned GBC ideas into treasure throat paying salaries of top executives they have employed without clearance regardless of the directives from the Finance Ministry to terminate those contracts," he added.
He said they are calling for the immediate audit of the accounts of the state broadcaster and a scrutiny of the company's IGF since the Board was inaugurated.
"For example, we want the audit of all procurement since this Board was inaugurated vis-a-vis procurement law. We strongly ask the National Media Commission (NMC) to direct this Board to tell the whole world a full disclosure of the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2015 African Cup of Nation contracts proceeds vis-a-vis expenditure," he called.
According to the Union executives, they still stand by their decision to refuse the Board entry into the Corporation's premises.
Some agitated workers expressed their dissatisfaction at the conduct of the board.
"If government doesn't abrogate that marriage, the ordinary staff; the carpenters, the welders,....we are saying we have abrogated Mr Kwame Asante's Board. We are inviting colleagues from other media houses to ask any question bothering their minds, we are free to answer," one aggrieved worker said.
The aggrieved worker added that they are in support of freedom of information flow and so are open to scrutiny.
In a separate interview with Joy News' Latif Iddrissu, the Industrial Relations Officer of the Public Sector Workers Union, John Sampah, who represented the General Sec. of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) said, the agitated Union Executives have the backing of the TUC.
According to Mr Sampah, "in principle, our General Sec has stated that what is going on at GBC is not good and that the appointing authority should pay attention to the agitations or allegations that the workers are bringing up."
Mr Allottey would however not state the next line of action the Union would take.
