The Judge sitting on the complaint filed by 88 former National Security workers against the National Security Coordinator, Larry Gbevlo Lartey and the Attorney General has awarded a cost of GHC300 against each of the defendants for not appearing before the Court. Justice C. J. Honyenuga indicated that, even though the defendants have been served notice to appear before the court on several occasions, they have not complied, except for one appearance by Lawyer for Mr. Gbevlo Lartey,. The court has also granted an application filed by Counsel for the plaintiffs, Capt. (Rtd) Nkrabea Effah Dartteh which spells out what the trial Judge should look into. The Application for Direction is urging the court to: 1.Look into whether the plaintiffs were removed from office because of perception that they were political appointees by the previous government. 2.Whether or not the plaintiffs are entitled to compensation 3.Any other issues arising out of their pleading. Justice Honyenuga ordered that, all the parties in the case should exchange all the necessary documents needed within 10 days before they appear before a trial Judge to commence the preliminary stage.
