Ghana Commercial Bank Limited (GCB) has opened an Agency on the North Campus of the University College of Education, Winneba (UEW) to cater for its growing customer base in the area. The move is also expected to mitigate the pressure on the Bank’s main Winneba branch at peak times. The GCB Winneba Agency will provide a broad range of services which include bill payments, 24/7 ATM service, account opening, 24hour personal loans to salaried workers while signing on customers to the electronic-based products and services of GCB.Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Martin Abofra, the Area Manager for Cape-Coast noted that GCB has been in the community for 44 years and has built a strong relationship with the people of Winneba and the University College of Education.“Indeed GCB has always seen the UEW as a strategic partner for growth. The opening of an agency here, on the campus of the UEW, is a further manifestation of the commitment of the Bank to the development of the area and the confidence it has in the University and the people of Winneba”.The Head of Consumer Banking, GCB, Mrs. Doris Wunu, thanked the University for their support which has culminated in the Bank securing a place on the north campus. She said this is in the interest of both parties and hoped this partnership will be sustained.GCB has installed three service booths in the Agency as well as an ATM to enhance the quality of service and turn-around time.
