Ghana Commercial Bank Limited (GCB) has been adjudged the best bank in Ghana for the year 2007 by the Global Finance Publishing Institute of the United States of America.
At a ceremony held at the National Press Club in Washington D.C., USA, on October 22, the bank received the award and a certificate.
A press statement issued by the Public Relations Department of GCB on Wednesday signed by Ms Thyra Obuobi said the certificate was presented to the General Manager of Human Resource Division of the Bank, Mr Edward Kwapong.
The certificate read: "This is to certify that Ghana Commercial Bank Ltd was awarded Best Bank-Ghana in the Global Finance World's Best Emerging Market Bank Awards, 2007."
It was signed by Joseph D. Giarraputo, President and Publisher of Global Finance.
GCB was rated, based on its size, contribution to national economy, activities, balance sheet and range of products, among others.
GCB is Ghana's largest bank with 135 branches networked throughout the country.Source: GNA
