The phenomenon of having celebrated screen and radio personalities venture into politics or rally behind politicians seems to be gaining grounds in Ghana.
Quite a number of showbiz and media personalities have contested or are vying for political positions over the years.
Though the occurrence may not be entirely new in Ghana, the 2016 election saw a large number of celebrities openly endorsing political parties.
The likes of Mzbel, John Dumelo, who is now vying for a seat in parliament and Tracey Boakye publicly threw their weight behind the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In the other corner, Bibi Bright, Lucky Mensah, Agya Koo were seen campaign platforms of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
