Member of Parliament (MP) for Awutu Senya West, George Andah, has received an award from the United Clergy International Association (UCIA) for bringing change to his constituency.
The award, ‘UCIA 2019 Hall of Fame Award for Excellence in Leadership’ for bringing “the needed change in his community.”
Also honoured at the awards ceremony held in Winneba is Minister for Energy, John Peter Amewu; Deputy Minority Leader, James Klutse Avedzi; and the MP for Gomoa Central, Naana Ayiah. Founder of Young Executive School, Nobel Francis Essel-Akyeahene and Anthony Boamah Mensah of Hope Restoration Academy, both at Kasoa were also among persons cited for the honours.
Executive Chairman of UCIA, Bishop Dr Kwame Aburam Anoff Snr, told Accra-based Citi FM that the award winners were selected based on meticulous research sanctioned by the Association.
“For George Andah we looked at his relationship with his community and his power to do more slogans which is bringing results and the needed change in his community,” Bishop Anoff said.
“Recently we saw someone died and about two or three weeks later we heard that the person was promoted and it doesn’t change anything or bring blessing to the family so we want to bless those we think are dedicated enough in terms of working for the nation and helping build their areas of services,” the Executive chairman added..
