The Ghana Education Service (GES) says out of the 80,810 teaching staff who took part in the February 2023 promotion aptitude test, about 55,917 candidates passed.
This according to GES represents a 69% success rate.
In a press statement announcing the release of the promotion results, Head of the Public Relations Unit of GES, Cassandra Twum Ampofo said messages will be sent to all candidates who sat for the exams to indicate whether they passed or not.

Breaking down the results, GES explained that for the position of Deputy Director, about 8,565 candidates took the test. Out of this number 4,655 passed, representing 54%.
For Assistant Director 1 Grade, 25,556 candidates took the test; out of which 21,749, representing 85% passed.
Again, with the Assistant Director Grade II and Principal Superintendent promotion test, 40,020 and 6,668 candidates participated, respectively.
Out of that number, 24,581 passed the promotion test for Assistant Director Grade II, whiles, 4,932 candidates passed the Principal Superintendent test.
"Please note that the promotion site will not be accessible this year," the statement added.
This comes two months after some 6,481 teachers failed their licensure examination.Â
Out of 7,728 prospective teachers who sat again for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) only 1,277 passed.
The figure represents 16.5 per cent of the candidates who sat again for the examination, introduced to license teaching practitioners.
According to the Registrar of GTLE, Dr Christian Addai-Poku, all the candidates had sat for the exam at least twice, with some sitting for as many as nine times.
He explained that those affected had one more chance to re-write the exam in the latter part of the year before its format and content are changed.
