Ghana Football Association (GFA) technical director, Bernhard Lippert says he will need more time to understand the country’s football Identity before rolling out policies.
The German has been in charge since October when he was appointed as a replacement for veteran Ghanaian coach Oti Akenteng, but he is yet to properly take charge and fully run the directorate.
Mr Lippert has come under pressure following the Black Starlets failure to qualify for the 2021 Africa U17 Cup of Nations, with many questioning the technical direction he provided.
But, the 58-year-old claims he has no idea about the football structure of the country and will require more time to create one.
There is always very fast expectations. The job of a technical director is not done in three months or in one year," he told Asempa FM.
"First of all, you have to make an assessment to see where we are, It is not easy. You have to find the identity of the football in Ghana, what will make the football strong here.
It is difficult to identify because most of the players go to Europe and they completely get thought a different kind of football so I have to make an assessment first and have to find out the identity. I don't know your identity of your country. When I find it out, I will see it but for sure, we need some changes."
