The country’s largest producer of cement, GHACEM, has reduced cement prices by about 2 cedis at the factory point.
The ex-factory price of GHC30.55 would from today, Tuesday October 07, 2014 be sold for GHC27.965 inclusive 17.5% VAT/NHIL. This would translate into lower retail market prices of varying levels depending on your location as a consumer.
This means that a bag of GHACEM cement which is currently selling around 35 cedis in the capital will now be selling between GHC31.2 and GHC31.6 as the retail price recommended by the company.
Unlike the ex-factory prices, the retail prices would however take effect from tomorrow, October 08.
In a statement signed by the Commercial Director, Nana Philip Archer, the company attributes the reduction mainly to the recent appreciation in the value of the Ghana cedi against the major international currencies.
Below are the company’s recommended end-user prices for certain key markets.
