The first edition of the Ghana Celebrity Impact Awards 2024 has officially been launched.
This will usher in a new platform to recognise the positive social contributions of celebrities and brands across the country.
This innovative awards scheme honors individuals and organisations using their platforms to address societal challenges and drive community development.
With a theme focused on "celebrating those who give back," the awards aim to shine a spotlight on those who have significantly contributed to charitable causes and social advancement.
The initiative hopes to inspire others to engage in meaningful social impact efforts, amplifying the collective effect of these contributions.
At the official press launch, organizers provided key details, including the event schedule and the opening of the nomination period, which runs from September 5, 2024, to October 5, 2024.
During this time, individuals and organizations making a positive difference are encouraged to submit nominations.
To nominate a deserving individual or organization, participants must visit the official website, fill out a nomination form, and submit supporting documents such as testimonials or project reports.
Nominations can be submitted online or via email, with a confirmation provided upon entry.
The awards feature an array of categories, recognizing both individuals and organizations for their social impact:
For Celebrities:
- Male Celebrity of the Year
- Female Celebrity of the Year
- Celebrity Music Artist of the Year
- Celebrity Actor/Actress of the Year
- Celebrity Influencer of the Year
- Best International Celebrity of the Year
For Companies and Brands:
- Impact CEO of the Year (Male and Female)
- Inclusion & Diversity Company of the Year
- Impact in Health and Wellness
- Impact in Humanitarian Leadership
- Sustainability Impact
Screening and Selection Process
From October 10, 2024, to February 12, 2025, a panel of judges will evaluate all nominations. Shortlisted candidates will be announced, with the public contributing 40% of the vote and the Academy contributing 60%. Winners will be revealed at the Grand Ball and Awards Ceremony.
Notably, companies and brands will not be subject to public voting but will receive extensive media coverage.
Key Dates and Events
- Official Launch and Grand Ball Ceremony: March 29, 2025 – The launch will celebrate companies making a positive impact and introduce the celebrity nominees.
- Ghana Celebrity Impact Summit – Women’s Speaker Conference: April 26, 2025 – This conference, themed “Breaking Boundaries, Shaping Futures,” will focus on women’s empowerment and gender equality.
- Main Awards Ceremony: May 24, 2025 – A star-studded event celebrating the social contributions of celebrities, featuring live performances and special guest appearances.
CSR Projects
The awards will culminate in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects undertaken by the Ultimate Celebrity of the Year (Male and Female) from June to December 2025, further enhancing their social impact with support from various brands.
