Ghana has been elected to chair the African Union’s (AU) Conference of Ministers for Sports at an ongoing meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.The one-year mandate will end in 2008 when Ghana play host to the second edition of the Conference.Osei Bonsu Amoah, Deputy Minister of Education, Science and Sports who led a Ghanaian delegation to the maiden conference in Addis Ababa chaired the meeting.The elated Deputy Minister told the GNA Sports from the Ethiopian capital that Ghana would strive to justify the confidence repost in her by the member states.The conference is aimed at identifying sports as a tool for development in the continent.Dr Emmanuel Owusu Ansah also chaired the Expert Bureau of the week-long conference.Source: GNA
