Staff of the Ghana Embassy in Washington, DC in the United States of America and guests from across the country were in a delightful mood on January 22, 2025 as the Embassy hosted the American launch of Diaspora Property Expo (DPE) 2025.
Held on the theme: ‘Gateway to Ghana: Unveiling Opportunities for Global Diaspora Investors,’ the event marked a major milestone in strengthening economic ties between the United States and Ghana, with a focus on real estate development and investment opportunities in Ghana.
DPE 2025 was first launched in Ghana in November 2024. It is a two-part programme to be held in the U.S.A. and Canada with the main aim of facilitating property investment opportunities for Ghanaians abroad.
The American component is set to happen at the 5th Floor, 1735 Market Street in Philadelphia from March 21 to March 23. It will bring together and showcase residential and commercial properties from Ghana’s leading developers.
Mr. Francis Gborglah, Acting Head of Mission at the Ghana Embassy, welcomed guests and assured them of the Ghanaian Government's unwavering commitment to providing an enabling environment for both foreign and local investors.

Mr. Paul Cudjoe, Minister of Economic and Diaspora Affairs at the Ghana Embassy, underscored the importance of DPE 2025 in attracting both investment and talent to Ghana. He highlighted the link between the expo and the broader economic goals of the government.
Mr. Abu Osuman, Director of the Economic Trade and Investment Bureau (ECTIB) at the Embassy, also stated that DPE 2025 was not only about real estate but also a reflection of Ghana's open-door policy that embraces investors from different disciplines.
Mr. Osuman encouraged organizers of the expo to push ahead and ensure that the event's success becomes a gateway to long-term partnerships between Ghana and the United States.
Daasebre Kweku Ewusi VII, Board Chairman of the Diaspora Property Expo and Nkunim Diaspora City, was at the launch. He encouraged both Ghanaians and non-Ghanaians alike to seize the investment opportunities that exist in Ghana.
Mr. Thomas Young, President of the World Trade Center of Philadelphia extended a warm welcome to the exhibitors to Philadelphia and stressed the significance of Ghana's role in the city’s broader plans for Africa.

Mr. Young made reference to the upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Declaration of Independence scheduled for Philadelphia in 2026.
He said he was glad to incorporate activities of DPE 2026 into the historic celebrations, envisioning strong collaborations between businesses in Philadelphia and Ghanaian and African investors as part of that global celebration.
The Country Director of Diaspora Property Expo Investment Ltd, Mr. Sidney Justin Tehoda, shared his excitement about the upcoming event and its growing momentum. He revealed that 25 credible real estate developers had already signed up for DPE 2025 and expressed confidence that the event would be a big success.
Mr Tehoda invited U.S. property investors to attend DPE 2025 to explore the vast opportunities in Ghana’s real estate market. He reassured the gathering that patrons of the expo would be able to connect with verified developers, explore lucrative investment opportunities and experience the beauty of Ghana at firsthand.
The CEO of Atomu Africa Development Services LLC, Nana Kwesi Atomu II, also spoke at the launch event. Noted for his several humanitarian and social intervention activities in Ghana, he encouraged Ghanaian property developers to also consider investing in Philadelphia and the U.S.A. in general.
He stated that his company, which is based in Philadelphia and Accra, in collaboration with Philadelphia's World Trade Center, was open to help facilitate such ventures as part of DPE 2025 and DPE 2026.
The launch at the Ghana Embassy in Washington, DC was the beginning of what promises to be an exciting and impactful journey for investors, developers and Ghana’s economy as a whole.
The Canada launch of DPE 2025 is scheduled for February 19, 2025.
