Ghana's High Commissioner to the UK, Sabah Zita Benson, has underscored the importance of strengthening Ghana’s economic footprint in the United Kingdom following the commissioning of the Export Trade House at the Ghana High Commission’s Highgate office in London.
Speaking at the ceremony on Saturday, March 7, the High Commissioner described the initiative as a significant milestone in Ghana’s efforts to expand trade, increase commercial visibility and deepen strategic partnerships with businesses in the UK.
“It is a great honour to welcome you all to the Ghana High Commission UK today as we gather for the commissioning of the Export Trade House initiative,” she said.
“Today marks more than the opening of a physical space; it represents our collective ambition to deepen trade relations, support Ghanaian exporters and create new pathways for investment and innovation.”
According to Mrs Benson, the Export Trade House will operate as a hub for showcasing Ghanaian products to the UK market while promoting collaboration between Ghanaian and British businesses.
She noted that the initiative is particularly aimed at supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and encouraging value-added exports.
“We reaffirm our belief that economic diplomacy is pivotal in shaping Ghana’s future and unlocking prosperity for our people,” she stated, while also expressing gratitude to partners including the Ghana Export Promotion Authority, Ghana Export-Import Bank and members of the Ghanaian diaspora for supporting the project.
