Ghana and Lebanon have taken steps to strengthen bilateral security cooperation following a high-level engagement led by the Interior Minister, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, in Accra on February 16, 2026.
The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration to address transnational crime and emerging security threats.
The discussions brought together senior Lebanese security officials and Ghanaian authorities to explore joint strategies for combating cyber fraud, drug trafficking, money laundering and other cross-border criminal activities.

Officials indicated that intelligence sharing and coordinated responses would be central to the renewed cooperation.
The Lebanese delegation was led by Ali Samih Jaafar, Consul General of Ghana in Lebanon, and Morshed El Hajj Sleiman, Deputy Director of State Security in Lebanon.

They were accompanied by Colonel Ayman Machmouchi, Head of the Drug Repression Bureau, and Lieutenant Colonel Salah El Hajj, Head of the Office of the Deputy State Security.
Officials said the engagement underscores the growing collaboration between the two countries in tackling cross-border crime networks.

The Interior Ministry noted that strengthening international partnerships remains critical to improving national security and enhancing the capacity of law enforcement agencies to respond effectively to evolving threats.
