The maiden edition of Ghana Minigolf Federation (GMF) schools competition ended last Saturday with over 100 qualified finalists taking part from eight schools.
Qualified schools went through a competitive two rounds and later battled for supremacy in the finals for singles, male and females and doubles as well after a long day tee-off from 9 to 4 pm.
It was Galaxy International School, that emerged tops to win the gold at stake, and extended its dominance to win the first runner-up prize (Silver).
Ghana International School (GIS) finished as the second runner-up to run away with the bronze prize.
The individual female winner prize went to Al-Rayan International School, while the first runner-up went to Galaxy International School.
Aggrey Memorial School left the GMF Ridge venue with bronze.
In the doubles event, (male) Pat Academy won gold with the first runner-up prize going to Al-Rayan International School.
Ghana International School won the second runner-up prize.
The doubles female saw Galaxy International School picking gold Al-Rayan winning the first runner-up prize.
Aggrey Memorial School picked the second runner-up prize.
With a colourful ceremony held the winning schools' participants were awarded medals for their efforts and achievement.
GMF Media Director Mr Fadi Fattal commended the participants highly for demonstrating great golfing skills.
“I congratulate all the schools for making the maiden edition grand and successful. Plans are in place for the upcoming national schools competition scheduled for the coming schools year calendar,” said Fattal.
