I don’t owe him a dime, may be I would have to go back and check the records and see why he says I owe him”, those were the words of Ofori Amponsah, speaking on Metro TV’s Allo Tigo last weekend.
He said he has given Barosky all the blessings and lessons he needs for life. “You know, it’s like a father and a son, sometimes when your father tells you not to do some things, you feel like he is suppressing you so much, but when u grow up, and you start facing the challenges of life, it is then that you will notice all that your father was doing was just to shape your life”.
But did you hear him admit to the fact that before his “Otoolege” album, there was a general perception that his style of singing portrayed “somebody”? (Only God knows who that somebody is). So to him, the Otoolege album actually marked the beginning of the “Ofori Amponsah era”.
Ofori’s dream is to quit singing after five years, produce young artistes and unearth talents.
Mentor II
Mentor II came to a dramatic close last weekend at the National Theatre with Prince emerging as the “Prince” of the Night. Call it a night of music extravaganza, music buffet and what have you, last Saturday was really a night to remember.
Clocking the Second position was Joe, followed by Kofi and Dee in the third and forth places respectively.
Batman Samini was there to support the “mentors” with some live music.
King Ayisoba, Proud father of a set of Twins When he started singing “I want to see you my father”, little did he know, that those were the lyrics he was singing for his unborn child; No! I mean his unborn twins. Last week rumours were rife that King Ayisoba had gotten a set of twins. He appeared on Metro TV morning drive last weekend, this time in a new style, covering his hair and announced that his twins were also going to follow his full steps and in particular his style of dressing. Before releasing his hit Album “Modern Ghanaians” King Ayisoba did performances with the late Terry Bon Chaka and he also featured on Kontihene’s African Mama. |
Becca releases new video Becca, “the prodigal daughter” of TV3’s mentor show, has released a video for her hit single “U lied to me” which features Kwabena Kwabena, and its currently airing on GTV and Metro TV’s Advertising Cycle. Speaking on GTV’s showbiz limits, Becca explained why she had to quit the Mentor show and had to come out with her own album. The Album is executively produced by E.K.B Records and features most of the top notch musicians in Ghana. The album has 10 tracks and is a combination of Twi and English tracks. She believes her English tracks have some touch of African rhythms in them. |
