The flag bearer of the new patriotic party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo has blamed the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the fall in value of the Cedi. Nana Addo was speaking to traders, artisans and the residents of Weija constituency as part of his greater Accra regional tour.“Because of the incompetence of the incumbent NDC party to be creative in finding ways to strengthen the cedi now traders and businesses find it hard to thrive because the currency is not stable”. He saidEcstatic crowd welcomed the NPP presidential candidate when he hit the Weija constituency with the NPP parliamentary candidate, hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botwe. Addressing market women at the Chantan market Nana Addo said
“Trading has become difficult because of government’s inability of the to create ways to strengthen the cedi, a situation traders and businesses find hard to thrive because of the uncertainty is stabilizing the Cedi”.Santa Maria had the most votes of the NPP throughout the Weija constituency in the 2008 elections and hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botwe entreated the electorates to repeat the pattern come December to enable NPP clinch victory in the elections.Nana Addo was accompanied by some NPP members when he visited Anyaa market, Santa Maria, Nii Adjadu palace, Awoshie A-lang, Ablekuma, Awoshie, Mallam, Gbawe and other areas in the constituency. Hon. Shirley Ayorkor Botwe welcomed the idea that the NDC has endorsed a female candidate to face her in the elections. She said she is optimistic of winning the Weija seat for the NPP come December.The “restoring hope” continues in the greater Accra region whilst the NDC commences its Greater Accra thank you tour on Tuesday
