President John Agyekum Kufuor has declared Monday, May 26 a statutory public holiday.
The Day is being celebrated as African Union Day fell on Sunday, May 25.
A statement signed by the outgoing Minister of the Interior, Mr. Kwamena Bartels, said the shift in date was due to the fact that African Union Day fell on Sunday.
The general public is therefore called upon to observe the Day as such.
