The Strategic ESG and Sustainability Impact Summit 2024 (SESI 24) will convene leading business executives, policymakers, industry experts, and sustainability practitioners from November 13–14, 2024, at the Labadi Beach Hotel to chart a path towards a net zero economy.
Organized in collaboration with the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Ghana, SESI 24 is set to become a pivotal platform for fostering dialogue on the urgent need for businesses to align their strategies with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards in response to the global climate crisis.
Under the theme "Towards a Net Zero Future for Businesses," SESI 24 will foster collaboration, drive innovation, inform policy, and inspire action among key stakeholders.
Professor Douglas Boateng, one of the world’s most respected experts in sustainable development and supply chain governance, will chair SESI 24. As a thought leader and sustainability advocate, Professor Boateng has been instrumental in advancing ESG practices across Africa and globally.

Commenting on his role, Professor Boateng said, “The time for businesses to act is now. A net-zero future is not just a regulatory obligation—it is a moral and strategic imperative. The future of African businesses and economies hinges on how we respond to the sustainability challenge. This summit is about unlocking solutions that make environmental stewardship a central component of business success.”
SESI 24 will feature a comprehensive program, including keynote addresses, panel discussions, and workshops on key themes such as decarbonization, sustainable finance, circular economy, and social impact governance. Attendees will gain valuable insights into cutting-edge solutions, emerging technologies, and regulatory frameworks that support the net-zero transition in Ghana and beyond.
The summit also aligns with Ghana's climate commitments as outlined in the country’s Nationally Determined Contributions to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
One of the key initiatives of the summit is the Sustainability Forest project, which aims to plant 10,000 trees over the next two years. As part of this effort, every summit participant will have the opportunity to offset their carbon footprint by planting a tree. This initiative reflects the summit’s commitment to promoting tangible actions that contribute to climate resilience and environmental stewardship in Ghana.
Another summit highlight will include the Green Manifesto Matrix, where presidential candidates from various political parties will present their strategies for achieving net zero. This crucial platform will encourage political leaders to align their agendas with the sustainability goals of the nation.
We invite leaders from across business, government, finance, and civil society to join us at SESI 24 to shape the future of sustainability in Ghana.
