Black Starlets management committee chairman Kweku Ayiah admits the Black Satellites failure to qualify for the African Youth Championship puts pressure on his side to get to next year’s African Junior championship.
The U17 side will begin their qualification campaign on Sunday with a home game to Burkina FASO at the Cape Coast stadium.
Kweku Ayiah admits the U20’s failure to qualify for their championships is weighing on them
“It put pressure on the team and the coach because we have been working on the quiet and lots of Ghanaians do not even know of our existence,” he told Joy Sports.
“But with the unfortunate exit of the Black Satellites you get calls from people and what they are all saying is we must qualify.
“I believe that the coach is on course even though there is pressure- and i know we can qualify.”
The game on Sunday is the first leg of the second round qualifier of the African Junior Championship which will be hosted in Madagascar.
