Breast Care International which received the award in the Diamond Category was recognized for commitment in quality and leadership as well as using technology in highlighting the danger of breast care and its exemplary role over the years that has brought greater awareness to the disease.
Presenting the award to Dr. Beatrice Wiafe Addai in New York, the President of Business Initiative Direction, Jose Prieto lauded Peace and Love Hospital for its contribution to better the quality of life for its community.
It is estimated that one woman dies of breast cancer every 69 seconds the world over and Ghana is rated among the first 10 countries with high prevalence of the disease.
Whiles intense research to find a cure for the disease eludes scientists, it is believed that early detection of the disease can go a long way to help with treatment.
