President Mills has called on Ghanaians, both home and abroad, to cooperate and support the Electoral Commission as the country prepare for next year's election.
Addressing a packed auditorium of Ghanaian in Canada, President Mills said he is convinced the Electoral Commission with its election track record, will do a very good job.
“What we can do is to cooperate with the Electoral Commission to ensure that at the end of the day, we can be said to have defended very stoutly, our already enviable democratic credentials,” President Mills said.
He indicated that his government is committed to making all resources they will need for a successful election available.
Seth Kwame Boateng reports that before the meeting, some of the Ghanaians interacted with the president, reminiscing their days in the country.
One of such people said “ it is good to come to such things and meet the president and get to know the solidarity of all the Ghanaians here. It is really nice when a large group of us can get together and get to know that we still support the motherland.”
The president had to answer questions ranging from issues of the economy to politics after his speech.
