Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, one of the presidential aspirants of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), says Ghanaians are yearning for a new kind of politics anchored on ideas, solutions and national development.
He made the remarks on JoyNews’ Newsfile programme on Saturday, January 17, where he shared his thoughts on the future direction of Ghana’s politics and leadership.
According to Dr. Adutwum, the electorate is increasingly demanding politics that is responsive to their everyday needs and focused on practical outcomes.
“Ghanaians want a different kind of politics — one that is about problem-solving, competence and delivering results for the people,” he said, stressing that political leadership must be purposeful and people-centred.
The NPP presidential hopeful noted that leadership should be driven by a clear vision and commitment to national progress rather than rhetoric.
He explained that the next phase of Ghana’s development will require leaders who understand policy, innovation and governance.
“We must move the conversation towards ideas that can transform lives and strengthen our country,” Dr Adutwum stated during the discussion.
Dr Adutwum added that his decision to contest the NPP flagbearership is rooted in his belief that Ghana needs forward-looking leadership capable of responding to current and future challenges.
He said his engagement with party members and the wider public has reinforced his conviction that many Ghanaians are ready for a renewed political culture focused on development, accountability and national unity.
