The District Chief Executive for Nkoranza North, Kwadwo Agyei- Dwomor has stated that Ghanaians will retain the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government in power after the 2012 general election. He said the performance of the government is manifestly clear for all to see, adding, the government has brought development to the doorstep of the people irrespective of where one lives or belong.Mr. Agyei-Dwomor made the statement at Wa in an exclusive interview with Joy News.He said the government has done a lot in the area of road infrastructure, electricity and water and the people will definitely show their appreciation during the 2012 polls."I don’t know why we shouldn’t win the general election in the first round. My reasons are very simple; the people tell you that they need water, roads, electricity, fertilizer and schools and we have been able to work on them within a blink of an eye. The people will not tell you that you are doing well when you are doing things like this but they will show their appreciation to this very government on voting day’’, he stressed. The Nkoranza North DCE who also doubles as the parliamentary candidate for the Nkoranza North constituency also stated that the NDC will increase its seats in the Brong Ahafo region and more importantly win majority of the seats in the Brong Ahafo region. He said majority of his colleagues who stood as parliamentary candidates in the Brong Ahafo region and couldn’t win have been appointed by President Mills to serve as district, municipal and metropolitan chief executives and based on that they will work to repose the confidence of the people, solve their developmental puzzles and victory at the end of the day will be theirs.Mr. Agyei-Dwomor gave lots of high marks to the members of the Upper West community who are domiciled in the district saying that they have been co-habiting with the indigenes peacefully and that there is no scintilla of bad blood between them and the indigenes."The Upper West Region has a reasonable number of people in the district, hitherto they were not having polling stations and they couldn’t be assembly men but today we have created some for them and they now have representatives at the assembly.’’He said one challenge they are facing now is having access to corn mills where they have to walk over 13km. The Nkoranza North DCE said that will soon be a thing of the past as the assembly will soon install 6 corn mills in their communities.
