President Akufo has announced that Ghana’s coronavirus cases have reached 8070.
During his 10th address to the nation in which he announced easing restrictions, he stated that 13 people out of this number are severely ill with one of them on a ventilator.
He stated that the number of active cases in the country stands at 5087.
President Akufo-Addo explained that the country has been faced with a milder manifestation of the virus than it was initially feared.
However, he said that 36 person have unfortunately died from the virus. He also revealed that 106 persons have recovered bringing the total of recoveries to 2947.
“Our ability to trace, test, and treat persons with the virus has improved considerably. We now have a large army of efficient contact tracers, we have expanded the number of testing facilities from two to ten across the country and we have increased appreciably the number of quarantine, isolation and treatment centres,” he stated.
President Akufo-Addo said that these improvements, made in fighting the coronavirus have helped the country manage the coronavirus very well.
