Mr Lyn Pascoe, United Nations Under-Secretary General for Political Affairs, on Tuesday lauded Ghana’s democratic development.
During a courtesy call on President John Evans Atta Mills, at the Osu Castle in Accra, Mr Pascoe congratulated President Mills for his assumption to the high office and commended Ghana for the mature and peaceful way she conducted the last general election.
He said the peaceful polls were indications of the development and maturity of the nation's democracy, which was within the objectives of the UN.
President Mills expressed the appreciation of the nation to the UN for its actions that work to the benefit of the people, as well as its contribution to peace.
