A circuit court in Kumasi has granted a 19-year-old apprentice hairdresser, 40 million cedis (4,000 Ghana Cedis) bail with a surety to be justified for allegedly stabbing a 35-year-old woman on the forehead.
Doris Ofosuah, the suspect, who pleaded guilty to causing harm but explained that she did so in self-defence, will re-appear before the court on July 6, 2007.
Police Chief Inspector Janet Oseiwaah, told the court that Akua Duodu, complainant in the case and Madam Comfort Fosu, mother of the accused lived in the same house in Kumasi.
Chief Inspector Oseiwaah said on 17th April this year, Ofosuah who lived close by, went for the complainant's iron bars to support her cooking pot but failed to return the iron bars.
When the complainant went for her iron bars, a quarrel ensued between her and Ofosuah.
Chief Inspector Oseiwaah said Ofosuah stabbed the complainant on the forehead with a knife and immediately fled but she was later arrested.Source: GNA
