He was a mainstay in Ghana’s U-20 team that won gold at the African Youth Championship in Rwanda steering affairs in the middle of the park.
He lost his place at the World Cup in Egypt but he returned strongly to join forces with Emmanuel Clottey to spearhead an impressive continental debut with Berekum Chelsea.
His form earned him a move to TP Mazembe, but he has not been able to replicate such form with the Congolese side due to niggling injuries.
A loan move to Don Bosco did not work up to perfection and now, Gladson Awako is hoping for a return to the Ghana Premier League with specific interest in Asante Kotoko.

“I spoke with one or two people at Kotoko but we haven’t finalised any deal, no agreement yet. But Kotoko is a very big club. It is one of the biggest clubs in Ghana and even Africa.”
“If I get the opportunity to play for Kotoko, why won’t I? If I get the chance to play for any club in Ghana, I will play.”
If the move materializes, it will be his third club in Ghana after playing for Berekum Chelsea and Heart of Lions.
