Glo Mobile Ghana has launched an innovative product tagged the Glo Bounce which will enable its subscribers to make free, unlimited calls even when they have no credit.

Glo Bounce is also designed to reward customers with up to 100% instant bonus airtime every time they recharge, and the bonus airtime can be used to make calls and send sms to all networks, and to browse the internet within a validity period of between three and 15 days.

A recharge of Ghc1 and Ghc2 gives three days validity period for the 100% bonus airtime, while Ghc3 recharge allows the bonus to last for five days, and Ghc5 for seven days. But any recharge from Ghc10 and above will provide subscribers with 15 days for the bonus airtime.

Head of Business at Glo Ghana, Akeem Kazeem told journalists at the launch that “for the first time in Ghana, telecoms subscribers on the Bounce tariff plan would first enjoy their bonus airtime within their validity period before using the credit in their main account.”

“This means debiting the primary airtime will only start either after a subscriber has finished his or her bonus credit or when the validity days for the bonus credit has expired,” he said.

He declared that any subscriber on the Glo Bounce plan will also enjoy the ‘Zero Balance Bonus’ which will allow customers to make free unlimited calls to Glo numbers.

Kazeem said to enjoy this unprecedented offer, existing prepaid subscribers on the Glo network can simply dial ‘5650*1# or send the number ‘6’ to ‘5650’, adding that all customers from Good Day Ghana & Gista can migrate free to this new offer, while customers on BiiiiiG 5 Extra can migrate to the Glo Bounce for a onetime fee of 50 pesewas.

“Another significant benefit is that a customer on the Glo Bounce can register up to 5 Glo numbers as ‘Family & Friends’ to make unlimited calls at 2 pesewas per minute after their validity period. In addition, customers on the Glo Bounce who use GHC2 and above between Monday 12am and Friday 11:59pm will get a special weekend tariff of 2 pesewas per minute for on-net calls (Saturday 12am to Sunday 11:59pm) also after their validity period.

Furthermore, once a customer on Glo Bounce uses a credit of 30 pesewas and above, he/she gets the opportunity to make calls at 1 pesewa a minute between 10pm – 11:59pm and in the morning between 5:01 – 6:59am.

“The Bounce product is for all Ghanaians.  Anyone outside the Glo network can still take advantage of this innovative product by simply buying a Glo SIM or porting their numbers to the Glo network to enjoy the unlimited offer,” said Kazeem.

He said the company would use the opportunity of the Glo Slide n Bounce concerts which it announced last week to further create awareness for the new Bounce product. The Glo Slide n Bounce concerts will kick off in Kumasi on 9 November, move to Accra on November 16 and end in Takoradi on November 23, 2013.

The concerts have already been dubbed the Biggest Musical Jams to Hit GH as they will parade some of the best musicians in Ghana and Nigeria.

Kazeem described the Bounce offer as a ‘gift’ for all Glo prepaid subscribers and said its introduction in Ghana has been inspired by Globacom’s high regard for optimum customer satisfaction.

Glo Bounce is being touted by critics as one of moves by Kazeem towards realising his ambitious goal of making Glo the second largest network in Ghana within 24 four months.

Sales man Kazeem himself stated that part of his strategy would be to introduce a number of innovative marketing strategies like this one, and ADOMBUSINESS is reliably informed some of the top innovative sales and marketing strategy groups at Glo’s headquarters in Nigeria are making their way to Ghana to help Kazeem achieve his target.
