The Ghana Medical Association wants the government to as a matter of urgency, establish an official communication system to support the flow of information regarding the deadly coronavirus.
“This should include, national and regional hotlines linked to incidents management/control centers to facilitate early reporting of any suspected case,” the GMA said in a statement Friday, January 31, 2020.
The GMA said it is concerned with the recent outbreak of the disease which has been declared a public health emergency of international concern by the World Health Organisation (WHO).
The association further advised the public not to panic but observe all the infection preventive measures the Health Ministry has provided, “especially frequent handwashing with soap and water and observing cough hygiene.”
