Credible information reaching Asempa News indicates that the Ghana Medical Association, (GMA), will in the coming days take the Health Minister, Dr. Benjamin Kumbuor to court for replacing their representative on the College of Physicians and Surgeons with the Medical and Dental Council Chairman. The GMA says the position has historically been the preserve of the Ghana Medical Association and it takes a strong exception to the action by the Minister since it was the GMA that spearheaded the establishment of the College. When the GMA President, Dr. Emmanuel Adom Winful, spoke on Asempa FM’s current affairs programme, “Critical Issues” about the intended action of the association, he contended that the matter has been raised with the minister redress.Dr. Adom Winful said they are still awaiting a response from the ministry and will take any action it deemed fit to reverse the action.Kojo Asare-Baffour Acheampong/Asempa FM
