FAREWELL H.E ALHAJI ALIU MAHAMA
“For we know that, if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our house which is from heaven.” (II Corinthians 5:1-2)
The Ghana National Union of Polytechnic Students joins the nation and the countless Ghanaian voices in expressing our heart felt condolence on the bereavement caused by the death of our former Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama.
We add without equivocation that, the late former Vice-President selflessly served his nation with all his strength and might and also with the recognition that “Allah” is the source of inspiration.
His calm demeanor, fluent and decent auditory, kind-hearted and philanthropic nature goes to expressing his unflinching persona in service to humanity.
In honour of his service we shall eschew all forms of indiscipline that has been his long standing Crusade which must see the light of day even in his absence.
To His family and the Muslim community we pray that Almighty Allah will replace the vacuum created and bring back smiles and hope to the broken- hearted. We are therefore certain that Almighty God in his infinite wisdom knows best and indeed has better plans for us as a nation in this hard moment of grieve.
Finally we also want to say that, his Excellency fought a good fight, finished the race and kept the faith. May the Almighty God grant him eternal and everlasting rest until we meet again. Amen
