Ghana Baseball President Ernest Danso has been elected as the third vice President of the Ghana Olympic Committee.
Danso secured the slot after beating Mohammed Mahadi by 43 to 19 votes in Saturday's elective congress.
He previously served as the Chef de Mission of Ghana at the 13th African Games in Accra.
Danso first came into prominence with the Ghana Baseball and Softball Association, introducing creative programs that enhanced the popularity and development of the sport.
Although successive governments have not provided funding for the sport, Association, under Danso's leadership, has elevated Ghana's presence on the continent.
In January this year, Ghana's Under-18 Baseball team won the African Youth Championships after beating Kenya in Sunday's final in South Africa.
The feat was also the second time Ghana had won the tournament, having successfully hosted and won it in Cape Coast two years ago.
The team is now preparing for the World Championships in Mexico.
