Former Deputy Education Minister and Member of Parliament for Assin South, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has declared that former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, carries a divine mandate to lead Ghana into prosperity in 2028.
Speaking at Mankessim during Dr. Bawumia’s Central Region tour on Tuesday, September 30, Rev. Fordjour urged Ghanaians to set aside religious and ethnic considerations when choosing leaders.
He stressed that God can anoint anyone, regardless of faith, to rule and transform a nation.
“I’m a Christian, I’m a pastor, and the Bible I read tells me that God is no respecter of persons. God can take anyone and anoint them, and it doesn’t matter whether the person is a Christian or a Muslim. He can use them to rule over His country and make His people prosper.
"The person I have seen such an anointing on is Dr. Bawumia. The one God has anointed to lead us to the promised land in 2028 is Dr. Bawumia,” he declared.
Rev. Fordjour further called on supporters to remain united behind Dr. Bawumia, arguing that none of the current presidential hopefuls in either the NPP or the National Democratic Congress (NDC) can match his vision and competence.
"My brothers and sisters, my elders, I beg of you - just take a look at all the leaders in the NPP, and also at those who have announced their intention to lead the NDC, and compare. Tell me, who among them, if we put them up against Dr. Bawumia, can stand him? Who? There’s nobody."
He likened the opportunity of electing Dr. Bawumia to a crucial penalty kick, warning that “if we change Dr. Bawumia, we will miss the penalty.”
