Chief Executive Officer of Black Avenue, Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, known in showbiz cycles as D-Black, is urging the government as a matter of urgency to address pertinent issues plaguing the creative industry in Ghana.
According to him, the government has over the years made several empty promises to help the ailing entertainment industry, and it is high time those pledges were met.
In an interview with Amelley Djosu in a yet-to-be-aired episode of Joy Prime’s Celeb Biz, the artiste manager stated that the world’s eye is on Ghana and the government must leverage the opportunity by making strategic investments in the sector.
He stated that, "This is one of the most important things that I feel like the ministry of tourism, art and culture and the government as a whole should look at. It is really important. Promises have been made years over and we really haven’t seen much happen but the eye is on Ghana now and I feel like the time is now."
He further called on the government to champion at least 80 percent of Ghanaian content on television in a bid to promote local content production.

He believes the strategy has been adopted by other countries and is yielding positive results by putting those nations on the map.
Celeb Biz is an insightful televisual journey into the business ventures of showbiz personalities.
The show unveils the hidden passions and entrepreneurial endeavours of celebrities, spanning the worlds of acting, music, sports, politics, comedy, and social media influence.
The show debuts on September 23, 2023, at 5 p.m. on Joy Prime and is also streaming on Joy Prime’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
