Government has secured another housing deal to replace the botched STX initiative.This time a wholly owned Ghanaian company Italconstruct International has been selected to build a little over 4,000 housing units for public servants.Minister for Works and Housing E T. Mensah laid the agreement before Parliament today for the approval of a sum of 200 million US dollars for the project.He said this arrangement is different from the earlier deals with STX and the Guma group of South Africa.“What we have done since we parted ways with STX is to receive various applications.“We have a special committee of technical people who goes into it,” he saidHe said the committee also looks into the financing arrangement of the company with thorough due diligence done on the company.
