Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama has assured that the government would facelift the Kwahu area to enhance the living standards of the people.
He said construction work was currently progressing steadily on the six-kilometer Nkawkaw - Obomeng road being undertaken by a Chinese Company.
This he said would facilitate transportation on the Kwahu ridge and the Kwahu North District (Affram Plains), while funds had also been secured for the rehabilitation of the Kotoso water projects.
Alhaji Mahama gave the assurance when he paid a courtesy call on the Obohene, Nana Obeng Akrofi III, as part of his working visit to the Kwahu South district.
He said with the discovery of oil, the country would see more development in the years ahead, while the energy crises would soon be over as there had been tremendous increase in the water level of the Akosombo dam.
The Vice President urged the people in the area to continue supporting the government to enable it to complete the development programmes by voting for the NPP in the forth-coming general elections.
Nana Akrofi thanked Alhaji Mahama for the visit and assured him of the fullest support of his people in his bid to win the New Patriotic Party NPP) presidential primaries.
