Communications Minister, Haruna Iddrisu says moves are underway to address the disparities in charges by district assemblies for infrastructural work by telecom operators.
The infrastructural works involves mainly laying of telecom cables which the Telcos have consistently complained the high charges by the assemblies only add to their cost of operations.
Speaking at the 2nd Ghana Telecoms Summit the Minister said a committee set up to deal with these charges has started work in earnest.
“There is currently a three member committee comprising the local government minister, a consultant and myself. The consultant is helping us to re-align the charges from the district assemblies” he noted.
